Employer Basics

We depend on our employer partners to provide accurate pay and service data and to correct any reporting errors. By doing so, you help us ensure the accuracy of benefits. Working together, we provide the best possible service to our members.

Who administers the benefits? See the Benefit Providers chart.

  • Encourage your employees to learn more about their benefits. We offer New EmployeeMid-Career and Ready to Retire educational seminars and webinars. As an HR rep, you can attend any our our educational sessions.
  • If you need printed copies of benefit materials, download or order materials using the online Order Materials Form. You can also access electronic versions from our website Library.
  • You can demonstrate the state’s investment in employees by using the Total Compensation Calculator. This is a useful tool for potential and existing employees.
  • The Highlights of Your Total Compensation brochure provides an overview of all state benefits and can help you attract and retain quality employees.
  • Use the Summary of Pension Benefit Provisions (All Plans) as a handy reference on the features of each pension plan. It includes plans for general state employees, legislators, statewide elected officials, and judges.

  • View current employer contribution rates for pension benefits, life insurance, and long-term disability benefits.
  • New employees (members of the MSEP 2011 and Judicial Plan 2011) are required to contribute 4% of their pay towards their future pension.
  • Most new members are also automatically enrolled to contribute 1% of pay to MO Deferred Comp for personal savings.
  • Encourage your new employees to watch the Your Retirement Team video to see how MOSERS and MO Deferred Comp work together.
