Lloyd J. "Joe" Carmichael Appointed to MOSERS Board of Trustees

MOSERS welcomes Lloyd J. “Joe” Carmichael to the Missouri State Employees' Retirement System Board of Trustees. Carmichael has been appointed to the MOSERS board by Governor Nixon and will take the seat vacated by former trustee, Lori Neidel.
Carmichael is president and managing partner of Carmichael & Neal, P.C., a law firm in Springfield. He received his B.A. degree from Missouri State University in 1969. Upon completion of his studies at the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1974, he joined the international accounting firm of Arthur Young & Co. as a staff tax attorney before returning to Springfield to practice law and teach. He was an associate professor at Missouri State University for three years where he taught and developed tax law courses.
Carmichael was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1974 and became a certified public accountant in 1976. He is a long time member of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Southwest Chapter of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. Carmichael has also served for the Democratic Party at the county, state, and national levels.
Carmichael and his wife Marie have two children and one grandchild.
