House Bill 1134 Update
[Posted on 04/09/2015 at 3:58 PM]
We’ve been hearing a lot of questions and rumors about House Bill 1134, which is proposed legislation to subsidize retiree health care premiums for certain state employees (except for members of the general assembly or statewide elected officials) who retire on or after March 1, 2015 but no later than November 1, 2015. If something affecting your retirement benefits is going to change, rest assured MOSERS will keep you informed on our website, through Rumor Central and on social media. It’s too early to tell what is going to happen with specific bills, but you can track all retirement legislation at the Joint Committee on Public Retirement website and by going to their link 2015 Pension Legislation under Legislative Information.
We also addressed this bill on our Rumor Central blog on March 19th. To sign up for Rumor Central emails, log in to your member homepage and change your preferences. From your member homepage, click on Personal Information from the top menu and choose Email Options from the dropdown menu. Make sure the Rumor Central box is checked to ensure you receive the email notification when we post a new question. Click Submit Changes, and you’re signed up.
