Pre-Conference for New HR Representatives

In response to last year’s post-conference survey results, the Missouri State Employees Retirement System (MOSERS) and Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan (MCHCP) will host a free “basic training” pre-conference on Friday, August 22, 2008 for employers that are new to the benefits field or that would like basic training on forms, reports, and procedures. This training will not be repeated at the Annual HR Conference in September at the Lake of the Ozarks. We encourage all new employers to attend both the basic training on August 22nd and the annual conference on September 9th to receive all of the information needed to optimally perform your duties. The tentative agenda for the basic training will be:

Time Class 1 (First 30 Registrants) Class 2 (Next 30 Registrants) 8:30 a.m. to 11: 30 a.m. MOSERS Basic Training MCHCP Basic Training 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lunch at MOSERS and travel time to MCHCP Lunch at MCHCP and travel time to MOSERS 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. MCHCP Basic Training MOSERS Basic Training This training is available to the first 60 attendees, but you must notify Sally Hager by August 8, 2008 if you plan to attend. You will receive an email confirming your registration after August, 8, 2008. You must register online for the September 9, 2008 annual HR conference.

Registration for the 2008 HR Conference is now open Registration for the 2008 HR Conference is now open. Featured topics this year include MCHCP’s new high deductible health savings plan with a health savings account as well as an update on the Statewide Employee Benefit Enrollment System (SEBES). In addition, there will be presentations by MOSERS, MCHCP, CitiStreet, OA and the Cafeteria Plan. Also, back by popular demand will be extended sessions on FMLA and Workers Comp/CARO. In keeping with this year's "green" theme, the entire registration process will be held online.
