Credit for Prior State Employment

I had state service several years ago. How do I know if it is eligible for service credit and how can I get credit for it?

We rely on the agencies to tell us which positions are eligible for MOSERS' benefits. Part-time, temporary, contract, and emergency assignment positions generally do not qualify. Prior to October 1, 1984, a member had to be in a position normally requiring you to work at least 1,500 hours per year. After that date, the requirement was 1,000 hours per year. If you think the service qualifies you for MOSERS' credit, please contact the payroll/personnel representative from the employing agency. The payroll/personnel representative will need to send us documentation to verify the service dates and pay contributions to MOSERS on your behalf.
