Study
Finds Lack of Communication on Retirement Issues
The
Eighth Annual Transamerica Retirement Survey revealed that 56%
of employers believed employees would choose a higher salary
over excellent retirement benefits, while only 34% of employees
agreed with that statement.
Data from the 2006 survey also indicated a lack
of communication in the workplace when it comes to benefits
packages, compensation and investment education, which could
make it more difficult for employees to get the tools they need
to successfully save for retirement.
Studies such as this reinforce the importance of a strong relationship
between retirement systems like MOSERS and employers such as
yourselves. We thank you for your continued efforts to bring
retirement related materials to the attention of your work force.
We hope to continue to foster growing communication with the
help of publications like the HR Update.
Electronic Forms Receipt is Growing!
The chart below reflects our
form receipts for February 2007. Notice that we received 45% of
our forms electronically last month. That is the highest percentage
we've received since implementing electronic forms in January
2005. Thank you to all who submit forms electronically! It improves
accuracy, speed and decreases your mailing costs.
