Vesting Requirement
Amount of Legislative Service Required to be Vested
MSEP 2000
If you were elected and began serving between July 1, 2000 and July 11, 2002, you will be vested after serving:
4 years (2 full-biennial assemblies)
If you were elected and began serving on or after July 11, 2002, you will be vested after serving:
6 years (3 full-biennial assemblies)
MSEP
3 full-biennial assemblies (6 years)
Eligibility for Normal Retirement
- Age 55 with at least 3 full biennial assemblies (MSEP and MSEP 2000)
- "Rule of 80" - Age 50 with the sum of your age and service equaling
80 or more (MSEP 2000)
